                                  श्री गणेशाय नमः

Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu  mythology. He is widely revered, more specifically, as the remover of obstacles; the patron of arts and sciences; and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rites and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions.

For me Ganesha is not only a god , i considered Ganesha as My brother who protects me from every danger. I tie rakhi on his hand on every rakhi festival.

he is my mentor who guides me in every phase of my life and he is a friend with whom I can speak my heart out.

Let's know some unknown and interesting facts about my brother Ganesha:

1. Ganesha Son of two mothers.

Goddess Ganga

Goddess Parvati

Ganesha is also called the son of the holy river Ganga because as we all know  One day Parvati,  prepared  image of a child, out of the unguents smeared over her body.

After that Parvati ji washed his unguets with water Ganga due to which it came to life and both Ganga and Parvati addressed the boy as their child. Therefore, Ganesha is also known as Dvaimātura (one who has two mothers).

2. Ganesha the curse giver.

The different phases of moon we see today is because  He cursed the moon that he will be invisible forever from that day onwards. Hearing this, the moon was shocked and begged for pardon to the Lord. After some time when Ganesha cooled down, he felt a bit guilty because of cursing the moon.He wanted to forgive him but when a curse is given, it cannot be taken back. He proclaimed that the moon would grow thinner each day and remain invisible for one day in a month, which we call as Amavasya and consider it as inauspicious.

3. Ganesha as a creator of obstacles (Vighnakarta)

Everyone knows Ganesha as a remover of obstacles (vighnharta). But a popular story is that the Devas requested Shiva and Parvati to create Ganesha so that he can be a Vighnakarta (creator of obstacles) for rakshasas (demons), thus being a Vighnaharta (averter of obstacles) and helping Devas.

4. Ganesha Writter of epic  Mahabharata.

Sage Ved Vyas requested Ganesha to write the epic, Ganesha agreed to write Mahabharat with some conditions that Sage Ved Vyas would not stop reciting the Mahabharata and that Ganesha should not stop while writing it down and the other condition was that not only was Ganesha to write it but also understand the verses that was being recited. When Ganesha agreed to these conditions Vyasa then began to recite the Mahabharata. It is said that it took both Vyasa and Ganesha three years of this continuous reciting and writing to complete the Mahabharata. While Ganesha was writing the Mahabharata with a feather, it broke. In order to stick to the condition that Vyasa put forth, Ganesha broke his tusk and started to write with it so he could write continuously without any interruptions.

5. Ganesha's mouse was a musician god.

According to Ganesha Purana Krauncha, the musician-God, once accidentally stepped on the foot of Vamadeva muni. It happened in the court of Lord Indra and the angry sage cursed Krauncha to transform into a mouse. Krauncha became a very big mouse and it damaged everything on its way. The mouse reached Maharishi Parashar’s ashram and started destructive activities. Lord Ganesha was there at that time and wanted to teach Krauncha a lesson. He trapped the mouse using a rope and brought him to his feet. Thus, as a punishment, Krauncha, in the form of a mouse became Lord Ganesha’s vehicle.
